Recent Finds - Lorenzo Bandiera
The Fly By Night Music chief and NTS regular shares his latest musical discoveries.

Lorenzo is a genuinely nice guy who is never afraid to share his vast musical wisdom. You can find him featuring regularly on NTS, manning his stall at independent record fairs or governing the expertly curated Fly By Night Music imprint, run from his small record shop in Peckham, Lorenzo’s Record Shack.

The varied output of the label reflects Lorenzo’s eclectic taste, ranging from Italo House, to Safari Disco and Jazz-funk. His tasteful selections keep gaining the attention and respect of DJs and club-goers alike, and even earned him a spot on the Dimensions line up this year.

As we received FBNM’s first compilation Musica Per L’imagine at phonica a couple weeks back, we asked Lorenzo to share his Recent Finds with us.

Krakatau ‎– Tharsis Montes / Apogean Tide

Growing Bin Records ‎– GBR008

Definitely one of my favourite from 2016. You got it all… one spaced out side and one jazz funk on the flip. Winner! Big fan of Basso’s Growing Bin Records!

The Astronauts Pop Group – Kye Kye Kule

Coret Records ‎– CRS 0517

Psychedelic Funk from Ghana. It reminds me of Larry Young with an African twist.

Harold Butler – Rebel Leader

Water Lily – ARCO LP 008

Harold’s classic. ‘Rebel Leader’ got an acidic bouncy grooves, love it!

Faithful Youth Challengers – Keep On Testifying

Smile Recording Studios – SR007

UK Gospel track… an ‘instrumental’ one.

Blue Zoo – Off To Market (Dub)

Magnet – MAG 234

B Side of Cry Boy Cry crazy Synth pop / New wave stuff.
