DJ Alfredo

alfredo recent finds phonicaHaving been at the very forefront of the European dance music scene for almost four decades, DJ Alfredo is known to many as “the father of the Balearic beat”. Since his first residency at the now legendary Amnesia club, Ibiza in 1983, right up to the present day, Alfredo has firmly established himself as one of the most influential DJs of our time.

Alfredo kindly agreed to share with us a few of the records he has recently discovered. Check them below!

Mad Rey – L’Anguille (Dodson Beat)

This is a really nice disco/house track with a great sample in it. I feel like I don’t have any idea where it’s coming from!

Nina Simone/Arthur Russell – Funkier Than A Mosquito’s Tweeter / In The Light (Shimmy Sham Sham Remix)

I love Nina Simone! This 12” is an all-around great disco and jazz experience with her great voice leading, as always.

Kelly Lee Owens – Bird (Prince Thomas Discomiks DJ Edit)

To me, Prins Thomas is one of the best remixers out there. This one is an excellent dub of a truly great song. I like it a lot!

Joutro Mundo – Pauleira Dos Panteiras

There are some beautiful Brasilian melodies in this track that make me happy when I listen to it. It’s very well put together. My South American origins are what made me choose this one!

Inner City – Heavy (Carl Craig Remix)

Carl Craig and Kevin Saunderson are like brothers in music. This track has a great piano riff and a fantastic acid bassline that gets right into you!
