First release out on Phonica Records Special Editions comes from Sinkane, a hotly tipped artist from New York.
Sinkane is the project of Sudanese-born musician Ahmed Gallab. With an aesthetic range seamlessly shifting from soul to rock, and from jazz to pop, Sinkane’s vibe is timeless and the sound is now. Runnin’ is a song taken from a collection of songs simply titled Mars. On this limited edition 12″ from London’s Phonica Records, the album version of Runnin’ is re-imagined as an increasingly dense longburn club jam by Daphni (Dan Snaith of Caribou fame) and as a more angular headjam by Chandeliers of Chicago. Limited edition.
