We are very happy to have hosted Roman Flügel for an in-store DJ set on 04/03/17 to celebrate the launch of his ‘Black Acid EP‘ on Phonica Records.
Roman’s chameleonic approach has taken him through different musical paths, releasing a wide range of music under many aliases over the years – most notably Alter Ego, Eight Miles High or Roman IV. He has also been pivotal to the launch of influential imprints such as Ongaku, Klang Elektronik and Playhouse that set a new cultural marker for European House & Techno.
The idea behind this 12″ was born in 2013 as we sourced material for the ‘Ten Years Of Phonica’ compilation. Roman’s contribution was one of the understated highlights of the release so we decided to collaborate and release a new EP on our label. You can listen to the four minimalistic tracks below as they premiered on Resident Advisor, Thump and Deep House London.
