Sad City debuts at Phonica Records Special Editions with EP ‘You Will Soon Find That Life Is Wonderful’, a mix of gorgeously evocative Electronic music.
Gary Caruth’s release for our Special Editions offshoot, is a magnificent four tracker of swirling synths, subtle detailing and melodic bliss. It kicks off with the reverb-drenched, hazy atmospherics of ‘Polymath’ and the trippy glockenspiel-inspired melodies of ‘Easing’ which recalls some of Four Tet’s early output (definitely a good thing in our books!). Then it’s straight over to the dream-like 10 minute journey that is ‘What I Talk About’, with the EP rounded off perfectly with the Steve Reich-esque title track, ‘You Will Soon Find That Life Is Wonderful’.
